My former teacher Tim Reynolds of Dave Matthews fame

For about six months while living in my hometown of Charlottesville, VA where the Dave Matthews Band is from as well I found myself having the chance to take guitar lessons from Tim Reynolds who was later called a master guitarist by Rolling Stone and VH-1. This was long before the Dave Matthews Band existed that I took lessons from him but he taught me the most important thing I could have learned about music was to basically play what I feel, my own music, and he trained my ear. He would stand across the room and hit chords and expect me to recognize them just by ear. Now thats valuable musical training. Tim is also the regular touring partner and guitarist for the Dave Matthews band and has with them been Grammy Award Nominated. Now thats saying something.
